Answer. 1) Sign up as a New User using the link near the Member Login area.
2) Enter your information for your profile.
3) Upload your photo when prompted.
4) Check your email for an email asking you to confirm your account.
5) After you confirm your account, login to your account and finish entering your profile information, using the links for each section on the right hand side of the screen.
6) Customize your profile if you want!
Posting Videos
Q.1 My Video is not showing up on my Profile
Answer. Be sure you have copied your YouTube "embed code" and not your YouTube page URL (the address you see in your Internet browser address bar when you are on your YouTube video page).
You will find your YouTube video embed code on your YouTube video page, underneath where it says "About This Video".
You will see the word "embed" and a box underneath with code in it. Simply copy and paste that code where indicated on your ShowcaseMySport Add Video page.
To copy the embed code, simply click on it to highlight it, Right-Mouse-Click and choose the "Copy" function and then Right-Mouse-Click again and choose the "Paste" function to paste the code into the box on the "Add Video" page in ShowcaseMySport.
Q.2 How do I feature my skills video on my Profile page?
Answer. You will first need to upload your skills video to YouTube (www.youtube.com). Then go to the Videos section in My Account and simply copy and paste the YouTube embed code for your video where it says "YouTube link."
If you want to feature your video on your profile page, make sure select "Feature" for "Select Video Appearance."
You can add as many videos as you want to your profile. One video can be featured on your profile, but coaches will be able to click on the "More Videos" link underneath your featured video to view all of your videos.
Public vs. Private Profiles
Q.1 Should I make my Profile Public or Private?
Answer. All players creating a profile on ShowcaseMySport.com have the option of making their profile public or private. If you choose Public, all of the information on your profile will be available to anyone visiting the website. This is much the same as if someone was to visit your travel team website - your profile is probably publicly available there.
If you do not want personal information available to anyone visiting ShowcaseMySport.com you have several options:
(1) Do not include personal information that you may be sensitive about posting online, such as your home address or phone number, on your profile. None of the profile fields are required, so you can choose what to include and what to leave off.
(2) Make your profile private and we will only display your sport, username, jersey number, position, photos and any other sports statistics you choose to include. No personal information will be available to the public.
If you make your profile private, college coaches will be able to request permission from you to see your full profile and you choose whether or not to give them full access. Only college coaches registered on the site can request to see your profile. This gives you the ability to review their college profile page or look them up on their college website to verify they are who they say they are, BEFORE giving them access to your full profile.
Granted the more information you make available to college coaches the better they can tell if you are a good fit for their program. However we wanted to give you control over how much information is available on your profile for public viewing.
We suggest you consider the both the benefits and the drawbacks of making your profile public or private. If you are under 18 years of age, we also suggest you consult with your parents and/or your travel coach.
Editing Profiles
Q.1 How do I update or make changes to my profile?
Answer. You can quickly and easily update your profile at any time by simply logging in to your account and using the black navigation buttons on the right hand side of the page. Click the button for the section you want to update, make your changes, and then use the View Profile button to view your changes. When you are done updating, simply log out.
Adding Photos
Q.1 I am having trouble adding photos
Answer. Here are step by step instructions for uploading pictures:
1) Click on “Photos” on the My Account page
2) Click “Upload Photo”
3) Click “Browse” and find the photo on your computer that you want to upload
4) Enter a Title for the photo
5) Click “Submit”
6) Your photo will be added to your account
Please note your photo image/file size must be less than 500 kb.
If the photo file size is larger than that, you will get an error message that says “Image size must be less than 500 kb” and you will not be able to upload it.
If that is the case, you will need to crop the photo or save it in a lower dpi (dots per inch) format using your photo editing software before upload it.
Having Trouble Logging In?
Q.1 I can't login to my account
Answer. Chances are you have not confirmed your registration.
Immediately after you create your new account, you are sent an email asking you to confirm your registration.
You must follow the instructions in this email or you will not be able to login to your account.
If you did not receive this email, please check your Spam Folder, odds are you will find it there.
If you still cannot find the email, please email support@showcasemysport.com so we can resolve this issue for you.
